100 Year Celebration

It is amazing to see how God has been working here at the Mission. In 1909 Peter H. McCarthy followed his calling to reach out to the homeless and lost in Will County. 100 Years later the Mission is still reaching out and saving lives. To celebrate how the community has made it possible we are hosting a Celebration Dinner Nov. 19, 2009. Joliet Renaissance Center at 6:00pm. Can you beleive that school is about to begin! Through the support of the community MorningStar Mission was able to provide over 250 children much needed school supplies from tennis shoes to pencils! Thank you Will County!

Not only is school ready to start but take a look at what’s coming up in September- Box City of Hope. Come join us as we spend the night in a box in an effort to bring awareness of the plight of those experiencing homelessness in our community.

MorningStar Mission would like to thank the community for their gift of hope and love they sent with their Valentine’s Day cards they sent for the homeless. The out pouring of concern and compassion was truly heart felt. The community sent over 1,000 Valentine’s Day cards which we handed out to all who entered our doors. The impact that the cards made is amazing. The sad faces turned to smiles and the room filled with cheer. We can not thank those who sent cards enough for their generosity. We want each person who sent a card to know that their cards are truly appreciated and where very much needed.
